“Holy wood”, Palo Santo is a sacred tree which grows in select parts of South America. It has been used for centuries by shamans in ritual prayer, ceremonies and healing. It's also been known for its grounding and focusing effect which can enhance creativity, productivity and increase good fortune. It has a beautiful sweet and woodsy aroma when burnt.

Healing Benefits

Palo Santo has been traditionally used in healing and we have found it to be particularly potent for clearing negative thoughts and feelings that can be associated with health problems.

Often used for as a remedy for the common cold & flu, asthma, allergies, migraines and headaches.

One of its most powerful uses is certainly to relieve stress, anxiety and depression. Palo Santo is also great as an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent.

We’ve found it to be a very effective insect repellent too!

Our Palo Santo sticks are harvested without harming the Palo Santo tree. Only wood that has been found to have died naturally in the forest is used.

 How to burn Palo Santo

Hold a piece of Palo Santo wood slightly upside down and light the tip until there is a small flame.

  • After 30-50 seconds , blow it out so only smoke is produced.
Place it embers-down on an angle in a fireproof bowl so that the embers will get enough air to continue to burn and gently blow on the embers when needed. It may need to be re-lit several times, depending on how long you want it to burn.
Place the bowl in a safe place, away from children, pets and any flammable items.
Alternatively, you can “smudge” by carefully carrying the bowl to the different parts of your home where it will purify the space and attract positive energy.
Each stick can be reused several times until the stick disappears.
